Getting Started with Confetti Bot

Welcome to Confetti Bot! This guide will help you set up automatic birthday and work anniversary celebrations in your Slack workspace.

Installation

  1. Click the “Add to Slack” button on our website
  2. Authorize Confetti Bot to access your Slack workspace
  3. You’ll be redirected to Slack where Confetti Bot is now installed

Initial Setup

After installation, open the Confetti Bot app in Slack:

  1. Find Confetti Bot in your Slack sidebar under “Apps”
  2. Open the Home tab to access your dashboard
  3. Configure your celebration settings by clicking Posting Settings under “Settings & Admin”:
    • Set your workspace timezone
    • Choose your preferred posting time
    • Select which channels celebrations are posted in
    • Choose how weekend celebrations are handled

Adding Team Member Data

You have several options to add birthday and hire date information:

Option 1: Auto-Collection via DM

Confetti Bot automatically sends friendly DMs to team members asking for their birthday and hire date. Team members can fill in their information at their own pace.

Option 2: CSV Import

Click Import CSV under “Team Data” on the Home tab to upload a CSV file with team member information for quick bulk setup.

Option 3: Manual Entry

Use the Look Up Team Member button to find and add information for individual team members.

Option 4: HRIS Integration (Pro plan)

Click Connect HR System under “Team Data” to connect your HRIS and automatically sync team member data. Confetti Bot supports 60+ HR systems including BambooHR, Gusto, Personio, Rippling, HiBob, and many more.

Option 5: Self-Service

Team members can update their own birthday and hire date anytime using the /confetti update slash command.
