Self-Service Commands

Confetti Bot provides slash commands that let team members manage their own celebration data without needing an admin.

Update Your Information

Use /confetti update to add or change your birthday and hire date.

1. Type /confetti update in any Slack channel or DM
2. A form will open with your current information pre-filled (if any)
3. Enter or update your birthday and hire date
4. Click Submit

Changes take effect immediately and will be used for your next celebration.

Opt Out of Celebrations

If you prefer not to have your birthday or work anniversary announced, use /confetti optout.

1. Type /confetti optout in any Slack channel or DM
2. Confirm your choice

Once opted out:

• Your birthday and anniversary will not be announced
• Your data is still stored for admin reference
• You can opt back in at any time

Opt Back In

Changed your mind? Use /confetti optin to start receiving celebrations again.

1. Type /confetti optin in any Slack channel or DM
2. Confirm your choice

Your celebrations will resume immediately — if your next birthday or anniversary hasn’t passed yet, it will be celebrated as usual.
